Las Vegas unveiled the first in a series of celebrations commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles appearance there at a gathering of dignitaries and original concert-goers.
Rossi Ralenkotter, President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, reminisced about the excitement of the two historic 6,000+ “sell out” concerts that were held and the mobs of screaming young women that marked the event. Tickets were a whopping $2, $3, $4 and $5 for the 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. concerts on August 24, 1964.
Helping celebrate were cast members of Cirque du Soleil’s show at the Mirage, Beatles LOVE, and the always present beautiful Vegas showgirls.
