The changing weather with crisp air and blowing snow remind us that cold and flu season is here. That’s not exactly the type of holiday cheer that we like to spread, but this year Intermountain Healthcare has opened a temporary Flu Shot Clinic at Salt Lake City International airport! This clinic provides flu shots Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm for busy travelers who may not have already received their yearly flu shot. The clinic will be open through February 28th and it’s located after security between the C and D concourses across from McDonald’s. If you’re traveling this season, make plans to stop by to stay healthy this winter!
Salt Lake City International Airport has seen passenger counts on the rise. Comparing the year ending July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014, there are 501,980 additional passengers! Certainly Alaska Airlines operating in SLC since April 2013 have helped those numbers climb, but all airlines have seen strong summer traffic!
Alaska Airlines started service to seven new destinations from Salt Lake City and expanded service with a third daily flight to Seattle. Flights began in June to Portland, Boise, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose.
Plans for Delta include launching seasonal non-stop service from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam May through October, 2015. The route gives customers connecting opportunities to more than 60 international destinations! The airline will start a daily non-stop flight to Mexico City at the end of the year, and will increase its number of daily flights to other popular Mexico destinations like Cancun and Guadalajara.
