Las Vegas McCarran International Airport is already among the top 10 airports in the US with an average of 3 million monthly passengers. According to Michael Boyd, president and CEO of Boyd Group International, traffic at McCarran is expected to grow by 16.8 percent through 2023! LAS will have the 5th largest passenger growth among airports in the US. This announcement was made at the North American Airport Forecast Summit held in Las Vegas earlier this week. The projections are based on population, economic growth, airline trends, and unusual local factors.
The city’s economy is on an upward trend with with overall visitor volume up by 3%, convention attendance up over 17%, and gaming revenue on the strip up over 22%! McCarran has experienced this growth first-hand with a 1.9% passenger increase comparing July 2013 with July 2014, and international traffic increasing by 17% over the same period.
